Had this for a while not sure it could be.
Only does it from cold and after about half a dozen gearchanges its fine but clearly it spells trouble up the line.....
No oil drips as i thought maybe it could be the rear crank seal.
Is it worth bleeding the clutch??

Judder is a pain as there isn't one simple answer

Is it worth bleeding the clutch

I have never known it to cause this problem, but it's quick and easy, doesn't cost much, so why not. While there remove the rubber boot and put some silicon grease in the inside of the clutch slave cylinder, they do get dry and start to stick, the normal symptom is a squeaky noise or the pedal sticking down though

The engine mount over the gearbox causes judder, normally worse if reversing up a slope, but not normally worse when cold, so in my opinion unlikely

The dog bone engine mount also causes judder, usually fairly random, if you drive forward a few feet and jam on the brakes and observe how much the engine wobbles, a visual examination might be a wise move and costs nothing, has caused your symptoms at least once

I think is more likely to be a running issue or the gearbox input bearing

The normal test for the input bearing is via the inspection hole in the bellhousing, its normally damp inside with oil if it's gone, I have driven a car like this, if you drop the clutch quickly it reduces the judder

A over heated or fault clutch/flywheel, rare

Contaminated clutch

Oil build up in the inlet manifold effects the MAP sensor at start up, and clears after awhile, is there oil on top of the throttle body, inspect the MAP it's only one screw and free. Normally there an occasional stutter on acceleration

If the engine feel less smooth at idle when cold, the idle speed less consistent, occasional hesitation on acceleration when cold, occasional stall or if you accelerate hard there is a mechanical knocking sound, I would suspect a running issue

And so on

Sorry there is one simple answer

Change this and it will be fixed

As with a lot of symptoms there isn't just one cause

In this case there isn't a easy way it identify which one

I'd start by checking in here

You can see the clutch pressure plate here, should be dry and red/dust, not black and oily

Engine not running of course, feel the inside is it oily

You don't have to remove anything, unless it's got a plastic cover fitted, none of my three Pandas have, but it will be hidden under pipes or wires

Take less than a minute to check, hopefully you can move straight on to the next check

I had exactly the same symptoms with my 2004 1200 8v. A new dog bone cured it. The rubber mount on the new one was a lot more rigid than the old one, and on closer inspection you could see where the rubber had started to split. I'll try to post a video of it tomorrow. I got a Feb Bilstein mount from Amazon for £21.99 inc vat it took me about half an hour to fit it, although I have a pit in my garage which makes things easy.

Cheers.ordered a dog bone. £19.51 with an ebay discount......will report back if its cured the judder. Weird that it only judders for the first few hundred yards 1st and 2nd gears. ...
As I have previously posted mine was doing exactly the same as yours only in first gear when moving off. I put this down to the fact that the clutch was cold. Even with a known slipping clutch thy don't always slip till everthing heats up. Before I changed the dog bone I checked the clutch for oil contamination which there was none. Now with the new mount fitted no Judder when cold or hot.
