Technical Cigarette lighter problem. Help please

Hi all. Long story short….
Daughters insurance needs me to plug in tracker thing to 12v lighter.
The 12v socket didnt work
I ordered a new one. Tried to fit.
Wouldn’t work. Discovered no fuse in box! Put one in. There was power.
Got it to work for a very short while as had to tidy up the cables.
Then accidentally touched wires and tripped it. Now no power to it. Changed the fuse but makes no difference.
Anybody got any ideas? Is there another fuse or relay that may have gone? I have to sort asap or her insurance is cancelled….

I’ve just been getting a 2009 Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet. For some strange reason it doesn’t have a 12v socket for the likes of my sat nav or ipod etc. :eek: Doing some reading on the Fiat forum it appears that this is not an unusual occurrence...

Many of these Black Boxes are powered via the OBD port..

Is that an option?

Or just find a better 12 volt source..

Quite often these ciggy sockets are actually pretty lightweight for power.

Not something I have needed.. our panda had a working one from the factory

in 14 years I didnt need a bulb..or fuse
