Technical Cigarette lighter. 12-volt socket.

My 2009 Panda eco 1.1 didn't have a 12v outlet, so I thought that I would install a USB socket where the cigarette lighter would have been. On inspection, there was a three-pin connector underneath the console that fitted the lighter terminals but there was no voltage on it. Next to it, there was the connector for electric mirrors, which had 12v on a couple of the terminals. My car doesn't have electric mirrors, so I cobbled together a connection to the USB outlet, which works. Does anyone know why there is no power to the cables for the lighter socket? The wires disappear into the loom but I couldn't see where they went. The Haynes manual wiring diagram is somewhat confusing.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is there a fuse or even fuse terminals installed in the correct space in the fuse box?

I couldn't see one.

You need to check in the black under bonnet fuse box

The maybe missing fuse and or relay

The wires going to the fuse box may or may not be present

If the fuse and or relay is missing and the terminals are present then plugging in a fuse and or relay will probably work

The fuse box on the Early 1.1 actives were normally not populated

Did you ever sort this out because I just got a panda as my daughters first car and no socket in it, USB sockets are very important to the youth who are addicted to their phones. She also has an android player fitted which came with the car and I'm thinking it was wired up by monkey's as it doesn't connect to WiFi and when turned off forgets the time/saved stations. Also I can't see how to remove it without breaking it or I'd have it out

My USB socket is still wired to the electric mirror cables underneath the central console because I haven't got around to following the wires in the loom. Last time when I looked for the socket fuse I noticed that there were no terminals in the fuse box, so I'm going to find the cables that go to the socket and maybe share a fuse in the box. Watch this space. Another possible solution would be to install a radio that has a USB outlet that can charge mobiles. By the way, most car radios have a permanent 12v connection as well as the switched one on the ignition circuit, which means that when you turn off the radio it still remembers the time etc.

As I said, our panda android unit may have been wired by "if the fuse doesn't blow, it's working type of Expert....
Will go to Halfords and see what they have on the shelf and as you say wire it to the socket under the centre panel

If it's the same as a 06 active I had the wires will stop at the passenger A pillar
