Technical Checking gearbox oil level

I have done a search but I couldn't find anything.
Can anyone tell me how to check the gearbox oil level on a 1.2 500
Or point me in the direction of a thread that explains it.

Sorry. Yes, it's a manual car.

Checking gearbox fluid isn't part of your normal checks, it generally requires removing the filler plug and sticking your finger or a feeler in there. If there are no leaks visible, it should be fine.

Thanks UFI. How do I find the filler hole?

You'll need to get the car up on stands, take the under tray off, remove the filler plug (usually an allen key these days). I've never done a 500 this is just generic advice. Unless you have reason to suspect the level to be low I'd probably just leave it alone. I'll change mine at ten years and will probably never check the level in the interim.
