I’m randomly getting a message to check parking or electronic brake - pic attached

All seems fine and seems to pop up mostly in mornings - I assume it’s a sensor issue of some sort. Anyone else had this issue?

I think it might be linked to a slightly low battery charge, I only get that message after short runs with little charging

Thanks Alan - didn’t think about battery but could well be as the engine start/stop hasn’t triggered for about 6 months!

I’ve gotta get the car in for the rear seatbelt recall so will see what they say then.

Yep I would say deffo low battery. Mine started doing this for a few weeks then other warnings started coming till eventually car refused to start. Fiat diagnosed dead cell in battery and was replaced under warranty.

Interesting, I got a dead battery yesterday (car is 25 days old and was parked for 3 days).
Messages I got was the electronic parking brake one and also the water temperature was showing red.
Car wouldn't start at all and had to use a booster and an additional battery to get it started.
Today's cars just go crazy when their battery is low...

Yep not like the old days when you got an idea it was going flat.Electronics these days don’t follow the old rules.

Worse still, as we found out in Germany, then using jump cables from another car takes for ages BEFORE the car's "computer says no" changes its mind to "computer says yes". Took around 20 to 30 minutes to satisfy the computers thirst.

Many years ago I did a neat mod to one of our cars. I ran the ignition coil from a small 12V lead acid battery that was fed from the main battery via a diode. When weather was really cold and the old cranking volts dropped the coil spark output would significantly fall off and made starting difficult. The diode (or I could have used an isolation switch) worked wonders. The engine (as long as one could get a rev or so out of the main battery) fired up every time. Blinking brilliant idea and mod.

Sadly with today's vehicles this little trick won't work but for true classic car owners then it is still doable (with care).
