Dont mean to sound rude, but why not keep it to one thread about your car? Why do we need 15 of them?
the reason i kept starting new thread was because it was on a different topic, ie engine code, chassis number etc so i thought it would be helpful to other who do the search.
sorry if i annoyed anyone it was really not my intention as you have all been so helpful, i am really a novice when it comes to cars and this was the best place for me to ask.

chassis plate itself is in the boot

aye on the left hand side under the carpet iirc
I thought the vin had to be printed on the dash
also on the ally plate in the boot and on your V5C

Just a helpful tip another tip, if you add tag's to the thread it'll become searchable under that tag, so if you added "engine code" and "chassis number" as tags it'll be searchable under both
