Technical Changing door check strap

Hi guys,

Has anyone replaced a front door check strap? I removed the old one that was broken and pulled it through the speaker hole, I thought it would be an easy job to fit the new (used) one but just couldn't figure it out. I've searched on Google and this forum but couldn't find any type of guide.

If someone can help with this would be much appreciated.

Yes through the speaker hole, should just slide into place and two nuts

Are you sure you have the right one, they are handed

On the A piller the single bolt is an unusual RIBE fastener

Yes I'm pretty sure it matched the old one (that I can't find right now), I attached some pics.

So I probably left two nuts inside the door, I'll try to find them.

Forgot to mention, changing the front left door check strap.

I really don't understand how Iºm supposed to fit this. How will these small screws reach the screw holes in the check strap?

Mine seems to be in a different position than this diagram:

Do I have the wrong part?

I think that this part was disassembled and assembled back the wrong way, that's why it wasn't working.

I also managed to damage the door lock cable so I will order both parts if that's not to hard to change either.

Yours seem to have the speaker on a different place, is this the same model?

The photo is a Mk 3 or Panda 169. Are you talking Panda 141 gen 3?

Yep check is the same 2003-2011

But different on the later pandas

Forgot to mention, changing the front left door check strap.

It looks like the strap that connects to A pillar should be facing the other side right? (see pics on this post that I quoted)

The red the outer skin is facing towards the camera

The white the outer skin is facing away from the camera

There both the same

Both sides use the same strap so it's flipped over

Or just mirror the one on the other side
