A neighbour has just been round to ask if I knew my car was parked sideways in the middle of the road at 11.30pm. Not sure how it got there but it appears that after being parked uneventfully for 8 hours, the car has rolled down the road and out of the junction! I usually go out on my own but it appears that when my passenger closed her door it has triggered both doors to open. The handbrake was off when I found it and I'm almost certain I put it on. There's nothing missing from the car and nobody has tampered with the steering column so I'm somewhat baffled.

Anyway, I now have to do some minor repairs. Luckily it didn't roll too far but it has a big scrape on the front bumper (black plastic) and the headlight mounting has snapped. I have a £300 excess so I don't think there's much point making a claim. Any suggestions on how I can repair the damage or where to look for parts. I'm thinking the scrapyard would be a good place to start.

For your info, it's a 1994 M 55sx. Thanks for your help.

For those of you who may be interested, I called Dixon Fiat today who could provide me with parts for my car at £63 for the headlight and £103 for the bumper. I also called Doncaster Motor Spares who can provide both parts new for £35 each plus VAT. Definately worth contacting them if you're looking for parts.
