I did drive this from London to Athens in 2006, and used it as the "holiday car" before shipping it off to another country....

4. 1982 DeLorean DMC-12. Ever since I watched Back to the Future as a seven year old I was completely smitten by DeLoreans. Then, when as an adult, I realised I could actually buy one, I couldn't stop myself:D. I had it for 3 years and took it to the South of France twice. Nothing on the road produces as much astonishment in passers by as a DeLorean:eek: I loved this car so much and was distraught when I had to sell it to go back to Uni:cry: I will definately buy another one day.

There was a huge event for deloreans in NI in 2006 and were followed back to the ferry in one...

We met the owner on the ferry and they were driving back to Paris...

wow u guys are really interested in classics. My dad is a classin maniac. Owns a '69 Ford Mustang 4.8 litre V8 256 bhp, a '61 Vauxhall Commodore, a Citroen DS (still in restauration), and an E-Type (still in restauration). good point someone made with the cars he "played with". I drove a Focus SVT, a Cayman Porsche, and just a few miles a Bentley Continental GT. I would LOVE a drive test in the new M3!!

This was my Dad's Mk 4 Ford Zodiac. The pink ribbons are because it was my wedding car! Was an amazing thing . . . a 6ft man could lie down in the back and stretch out! The Mk 2 and Mk 3 purists used to say it was an ugly box but I kinda liked it  At one time he had this one and two others, one of which was a very rare estate version, and he used to keep them in a shed and pull bits off them when he needed to!

2007 Fiat Panda 100hp, what a car that was
1994 Fiat Cinq Sporting, only bought to save from scrappy

Well it's certainly brought out some confessions! I always remember a guy I used to work with years ago telling me about the Reliant Robin he had. He ran into the back of someone on the Derby ring-road and cracked the front, then fastened it back in place with string, carried on home, the string got caught in the wheels and pulled the whole front body section underneath. He always said he was the only person he ever knew who actually ran over his own car!

Great thread! Here's my history:

Talbot Horizon 1.5GL - best thing about it was the colour (cherry red)
Renault 11 automatic - nothing good about it
Vauxhall Nova 1.4SR - good fun
Peugeot 106 Rallye - HUGE fun!
FIAT 124 Spider - gorgeous pininfarina styling
Renault 19 16v - nippy
Peugeot 405 SRi - old
FIAT barchetta (red, N-reg)
Peugeot 406 Coupe v6 - more gorgeous pininfarina styling
Toyota RAV4 - good dog carrier
FIAT barchetta (silver LE, R-reg)

Just writing this list has brought back a few memories, like driving into the back of a combine harvester in the Talbot about 3 weeks after passing my test, tackling the Stelvio pass in the R11 (and almost failing), a fantastic blast from Venice to Innsbruck in the 406, and the gorge de nesque in the b last year, surely one of the best roads in Europe.

When I was about 6 or 7 we used to have a Polish neighbour who had a black Zodiac and spent every weekend working on it. One very hot Sunday he seemed to have spent a very long time under his car without moving (about 3 hours), I have vivid memories of his DM'd feet sticking out from the car, a couple of us were 'skidding' our chopper bikes up to his feet, it was not until his wife came out to bring him some lunch we realised why he had not moved (from the screams of his wife). He had popped his clogs!! Poor bugger was a bit overweight and had a heart attack while working under his car clad in overalls................

In a dark kinda way it is very funny to look back on now and at the time I was too young to understand.........
