But is there any way you could fit fiat 500 seats onto a 93 panda. i mean obviously it's not orthodox.. but surely they have some screws in common that you could use to secure em. I dont know. thats probably arse. just checking up.

the classic panda is the greatest car of all time.

Yeah, it's definitely not the new 500 as they aren't available here yet.

I don't know they look pretty vintage but probably a little too nice to be from an original 500. i'll ask anyway and get back to you.

the thing is a bought a plain white panda for very cheap so figure I may as well spend just a little doing it up.

guess the big question is, is anywhere likely to offer the service of slightly mismatched seat fitting, specifically perhaps a fiat dealer, or would I have to do it myself? because that may ruin me.

cheers for your help so far

If you change the rails you can pretty much fit any seat as long as their is enough room for the new rails to be welded to the floor. Mate was going to fit a set of BMW 3 series seats in for the trip to Istanbul but changed his mind.

good descision, as they wouldnt have gone in.

Someone in cento section had BMW leather seats in and had to take them out, although they physically fit, they were just too big so things like handbrake and seatbelt buckles were hampered/blocked by seat IIRC

I am of course assuming that if they dont go in a cinq they wont go in one of these.

But as Alan said providing you get the right subframes, you could fit anything in there, but as demonstrated above it has to be within reason

Look at 2 seater sports cars for a source of seats. their size means they tend to also lend their seat size to fit within the constraints of the panda.

MR2 & Golf seats fit ok and you can weld up a subframe easy enough if you need to.

I was going to use the seats from an E30 3 series but I had my arm twisted not to. But they also fit. Just make sure you get them from a coupe otherwise getting in the back will be no fun at all.

You have two choices when it come to fitting the subframe. You can either weld it directly to the floor (a botched job if you ask me) or you can fabricate mount points or a mount rail to bolt it to the floor. If you do this don't forget to use large washers on the underside to spread the load and shear forces on the bolt hole otherwise you may find that you rip the seat out over time. The seats on the MK1 were rivited to the floor and soem of the fasteners had sheared off so they we rebolted using the above method. Doing this means that if you ever want to go back to the originals it makes it that much easier to be able to just unbolt and swap.
