Hi all,

I wont to buy for my wife used Seicento or Cinquecento, and if any one can tell me what to look when buying (what is acceptable if not working and what is not).

She is afraid to drive my Marea 2.0, she said tooo big and too strong :p

Thank you....

ask in the cinq/sei section.

i do know head gasket problems are very common, handbrake is often crap, and i was forever fixing my GF's sister's cinq even though she treated it with care.

there great little cars, the best advice i can give is to get the bast one you can afford. like jug says, head gaskets are a commom problem as is the handbrake and the clutch (especally the cables). I'd get a sporting one myself, they have all the kit you need, electric windows c locking rev counter etc but still do stupidly great MPG and are a hoot to drive, also there still insurance group 3!! (if you had about £2000-£2500 to play with, i'd keep my eyes open on ebay for a tidy siecento schumacher) infact this seems a bargin 130213168107, i'm tipping that the cinqs and seicentos are gooing to be future classics (just look at every other small fiat to date) so getting a rare one now makes sence.

Thank you all for advices and links.

That is something I will take care as soon as I buy one.

Benjammo, for me (from Serbia) it is expensive to buy cars from eBay, because I have to pay 18%VAT+20% tax to state. All cars entering Serbia need to have min. EUR3 engine and the price on which you have to pay VAT and custom tax is from book.

The book is really catalogue with prices (from Italy or Germany). So it doesn't really matter if you buy good car for small price!:bang:

Here in Serbia you have seicento from Italy (Telekom and government) which where van originally. Prices for something like that is 3.000-3.800 euros (depending on equipment). Other seicento's are regular.

Any way, I hope I will get something good :)

Jug, you mean that cable can detach from the spark?
no, i mean behind the passenger side footwell carpet the clutch cable comes off from the metal bar it is attached to. there is a small clip holding it in place, but the clip falls off easily. in the end i replaced it with a bent paperclip, and it never happened again.

So you think that this cinque is too expensive?

Yes Ycming this is a price for this year and equipment, for seicento is even higher (from 3.500...).

But if you try exporting this from UK, you will have big problems selling it in Serbia, because the steering wheel is on the right side, and we use it on the left.
