Brembo brake pad and disc review

It's been 2 months and about 1400 miles since I changed my pads and discs and I wanted to give some feedback after my pads had bedded in.

My main complaint with the original brakes on our 1.2 500 was that they were VERY grabby. You just needed to touch the brakes and the car was stopping at a great rate of knots.

This might sound good but in practice was freaking annoying as the wife doesn't drive the 500 much and I was headbutting the dash all too often whilst she got used to the overly grabby brakes The Brembo pads have just that little bit less initial bite than the OEM pads and another positive side effect is a distinct reduction in brake dust. If you put your foot down properly the car still stops as well as a 500 can stop, you just have a much more progressive brake pedal which is important especially in the winter when you want as much control as possible.

Would definitely recommend the as replacement from the standard discs

Anything has to be better than OEM for dust, surely? I've washed the car before, cleaned and dried it, the wheels etc then driven it around the block to clean/dry the discs and there's a thin smattering of dust on the wheels. Bloody terrible!

Yeah Tbh I think just about anything from a decent manufacturer would do, it's not like a 1.2 500 is ever going to ask that much of the brakes. For £44 for pads and discs you can't complain

Polish your wheels and the dust does not stick as much.

I waxed my wheels so the dust never sticks that bad. But the Brembo's have made the situation that much better

I know what you're saying

I just gave in inside of my wheels a quick wipe with a damp cloth and below is the result. That's only 6k miles of brake dust.
