First things first, great forum(y)

On to the question, I have just purchased a fiat bravo registered on 30/11/07, the garage I bought it from seem to think it came with a 5 year manufacturers mechanical warranty. I thought the 5 year warranty started on models registered some time in 2008.

Was the new bravo always a 5 year warranty or did the retro apply 5 years to the 2007 models when they introduced for 2008 Bravos?

I rang one fiat dealer and he thought all bravos had the 5 year warranty, but he wasnt too convincing, to be honest:confused:

Regards

John.

hi, welcome to the forum

I thought it was a 3 year, but when I sent off the form in the back of the service manual for transfer of ownership for the 3rd year warranty to fiat as car did have form from previous owner for 3rd year ( costs £27), I got a letter back confirming the car was covered for Fiat warranty years 1 and 2, but dealer warranty (just the same) was for years 3,4 & 5 (y)

oh and mines a march 08

Are the additional 2 years dealer i.e. insurance backed warranties rather than the much more complete manufacturer. Amazing how many clauses these dealer warranties have that enable avoidance of coverage.
