Hi guys.
I fear a head on collision is iminent between the mule and I, and one of your local-ish workshops!!
I went to a guy called Dennis Vassey in Barnetby nr Brigg for my Cams install and Dastek Unichip.To cut a long story short the guys charged me hundreds extra and from the instant I picked up my car late last evening, its been fekd! hence my not going to the show this wknd as I will need it to have it on the back of a wagon just to get it back to him (I don't want to let Dennis anywhere near my precious again, but think my credit card people will insist on giving him another chance before I promptly persue him for recompense!!!!)
Just wondered if any of you had had dealings with him??

im from near scunthorpe too, in Brigg
mines gonna be on the road within the month, dad is outside polishing it, he's on about having it for himself though, he's definately taking a liking to it, wont even let me wash it!
Nico, talking to my dad, he knows Dennis very well, used to borrow tools off him and stuff, but said he was very good at his work so maybe just a one off for you.
On the subject of bravo spotting in scunthorpe, saw a green 1.6sx in halfords car park in scunny, i was in my shed of a fiesta at the time though.

I appreciate your remarks Rhys, but the car was obviously feckd from the moment i started the engine. Not three hours before (before Dennis promptly left to go on his hols!) he had assured me the car was ready to collect and was 'running and sounding great'....my arrse!! I barely made it home (didn't want to drive it cos of the noises - but stranded otherwise as caught the last train to get there) and almost crashed into my fathers car coming into the driveway as the engine cut out on me yet again and the powering steering promptly failed.
He quoted me 350 all inc for the Unichip &
120-170 for the Cams install (although I was willing to allow perhaps a further 50 cos the 20 valve lump is a tight one).
The bill i found waiting for me..get this!!! Was
Cams install 3 fekin hundred
and Unichip 480.
There's more yet to what he overcharged me for on extras but I'll spare you the details.
Its obvious, when it came to the performance cams - he was bloody clueless as I gave him the contact for the importer of the cams, who has since told me Dennis rang up asking all sorts of daft questions about how to fit em!!
I'd have taken it to my trusted fiat specialist locally but Dennis said he was happy to do the work

Cheers al. Nico had hoped to have me finished at long last this week, but this episode with Mr vassey has gutted him completely. He should be finishing off my new interior as we speak along with loads of other bits that arrived this week, but instead he just stays in his room and won't come out. He knows it's not my fault, and he has just kept telling himself that the waits he's endured for stuff will make the end result worthy of the wait, but he is close to breaking point now with all the delays, and then this

Quite like the way you have your amp in an opening bit in the boot...damn i missed you though, could have had a look how you did it! - going to do something like that with mine.

yeah you could have had a look! doesn't look as good in the flesh i'm afraid, a bit battered from bags of sand and cement on it has worn the carpet.
Sadly the bravo might be going soon, if it does i'll be giving the woodwork away, if you haven't got yours sorted by then you are welcome to it

yeh, well, i work at morrisons, sure ive seen a bravo kicking around car park after work. But the thing is... im driving a 1.1 fiesta at the moment until the bravo is on the road! so not got the guts to go around and talk in that!
