i picked up set of the super 4 sparks and apparently the 510's are to fit my 1.2 16v.... but the thread seems to be bigger than the ngk's i have fitted currently.... am i being thick? do they make 2 different sized threads for the 510's or do they just not fit? please help....

If the thread is bigger, i honestly can not see it threading in the hole, take one out and try it, but do not tighten to tight incase you strip thread, if dont fit, take them back, i paid £9 for a set of 4 spark ones from halfrauds.

Different thread, as in the new plugs are slightly longer? This is probably fine. If the thread pitch is different (the distance between each of the 'peaks' on the thread), you shouldn't use them.

Regarding grease: No. Do not use grease or any lubricant under any circumstances. There are two reasons;

1) The threads are more than likely Nickel plated. This means they shouldn't seize or corrode on the threads anyway.
2) The torque settings specified are for DRY threads. Greasing the thread decreases the amount of effort needed to screw the plug in/out but it does not reduce the total axial force on the plug. In simple terms, you could end up over-tightening the plug (although you wouldn't notice) and could strip the thread in the head.

I wouldn't buy these to be honest, they're a gimmick. Only one of the electrodes fires anyway, and you still get the same degredation on the centre electrode that you would on a standard spark plug.

I experienced misfiring when using them.
