Technical Boot stopped opening - Can't find the thread

Hmmm. My boot stopped opening and I have to use the keyfob now.

I'm sure I've read about this happening to someone here but my searching seems to turn up a blank. Seem to recall this is also quite common on the new style Pandas as well and it was a microswitch of some sort?

Can anyone point me to the link where the solution was found?

I suppose. But they can just do that to another lock then.

Means more faffing if the battery goes flat. My jump leads are always in the boot

UK 500 doesn't have a hatch key

Which means if the boot will open with the keyfob but not the tailgate handle, the problem is almost certainly the microswitch in the handle.

If mine did this, I'd be thinking along the lines of disassembling the handle & replacing the microswitch.

To source the microswitch, I'd start with RS Components - a quick search of their website shows they've got 412 different microswitches in their catalogue:

You could also try Maplins, but in general they are more expensive & have less choice - but they're handy if you have a local branch you can pop into.
