I understand, before anyone points out that technology must progress, and also that if Fiat have an alliance with Tom Tom the said Tom is going to keep Changing it's product to profit from the collaboration. However I have to write this rant because within a short space of time a new Tom Tom satnav has been launched (that will only work with 2011 cars onwards with option 68R) and that it is unlikely that my current Blue&Me Tom Tom will not work with option 68R, which means that the satnav we intended to share between my 500 and our Sept delivery Evo will only be able to be used in my 500.
Of course I may be mistaken, although I have had this problem before and I will not be at all surprised if it won't work in the Evo.

More annoyingly if we now wan to make use of the port on the Evo (option 68R) we'll need to fork out £300 for the new Tom Tom 2!

Sorry, is been a terrible day at work and really in the grand scheme of things it's not all that important, especially when you take the Oslo event into consideration, but it's bloody p****ed me off.

Hmm

Steve

It should work with Evo as well. I just got this from Fiat tomtom...

"Fiat Blue&Me TomTom Sat Nav. Compatible with Fiat 500 models manufactured from September 2010 with option 68R , Punto Evo all models with option 54k or 68R, Doblo 2010 and Qubo"

Steve, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the new unit supports Live Traffic. Hopefully you will still be able to dock and pair your older version and have access to all the current functions, but I sympathise with you if this turns out not to be the case. :(

Slightly off-topic but are we not expecting too much from our cars ? Article in last Sunday's papers 'Aarragh - my car's got electronic overload'. The Z4 guys weren't too happy but at least Fiat weren't in the table.(y)

The original Blue & Me Tom Tom works fine in my option 68R equipped 11 plate 500, and I see no reason at all why it won't pair with your evo with no issues at all.

Thanks a million for that useful reply. I'm hoping that this is also the case with Evo. Btw, does the 68R option also come with the new USB/AUX switch, i.e. the non-Windows logo port and the standard jack point?

Thanks again

Steve
