Technical Ball joints

Hi all on my last mot i failed on a ball joint so they replaced the wishbone

I suspect the other side is going now

- snatching steering
- intermittance odd noises
- clunking over bumps
- steering will not stay straight

How can i test the ball joint?

How can i test the ball joint?

Sound like typical symptoms of worn ball joints, or possibly steering rack/anti-roll bar bushes and links - or some combination of these things.

There are some youtube videos that show you how to test the ball joints for wear, e.g. here

Check it the bottom coil of one, or both, front springs has snapped of.

They have snapped about 7 months ago but both replaced .. Do you think they may have damaged the struts?

Diagnosed today its the rear wishbone bush that has gone .. 170 quid incl vat

Fitted..??

pretty sure the repair kits are @£40 per side

Yeh fitted thats a whole new wishbone

There are no wishbones at the rear, it's a cross beam axle. New one is about £700 without fitting.
