Auxiliary Belt snapped

Hi I have a 15 plate 500c and today my Auxiliary belt snapped at 22,459 miles!!! Not having had a fiat before and serviced it at 11900 and booked in on Thursday for its next service I am just wondering if this is normal/common? As my previous cars had their Aux&cam belts chsnged at 60,000 miles

Belts snapping early are sometimes the symptom, not the cause, check what the belt drives for rough running, worn pulleys or seized ( hopefully just bad luck with a belt fault). My son changed the aux belt on his car, and when it snapped and fell off for the second time, after a very short time...( one day ) he asked me to have a gander, his air con compressor was seizing under load .... and taking the belt out !
