Hi everyone!

Can you help me with the best way to replace the auxiliary belt tensioner? (I tried cutting an Allen wrench to size and loosening the bolt, but unfortunately the bolt is a bit stripped)

Is it possible to lower the engine (if I remove the engine mount) enough to get normal access from the passenger side?

Or does anyone have any idea what the process looks like in a brand service centre?

Thanks in advance for your help! 😁

Which bolt is stripped, the one on the bearing, which is often opposite direction to normal undoing (as in clockwise to slacken) due to rotation of bearing.
Re access to the complete tensioner, you may find if car supported safely on axle stands and the wheel off along with the wheel arch inner cover , that by supporting with a jack under the sump using a rubber pad not to damage sump, then with that side engine mount off as you thought, by lowering engine gently down you may be able to access bolts easier, also the angle of engine will increase the access as it lowers down.
If belt is off you may get a small socket and ratchet in there as well.
