Grande Punto Aux not working...

So i have a 2012 fiat punto gbt, and i was trying to install an aux cable as my car has not got one, but i am having difficulty.

I have both the yellow and blue aux cables that fit in the back of the headunit, but no matter what one i use, when i press 'media' it says 'no source available'

Anyone got any ideas why??

You have to create a blank (silent) mp3 file which you have to play it in from the usb in order to listen to AUX input.

Hi,
The Head Unit does not "know" that you have connected a lead. Using the blue ISO plug you need to link pins C13 (CD bus command line) to C15 (CD bus earth).

Could you tell me how to do this? I don't really know how, never messed with anything like this before

Hi,
If the AUX lead you purchased has wires in positions C13 and C15 (there is a diagram on the radio) just join them together and insulate the joint. If there are no wires you will have to get two contacts, crimp a wire to them and fit them into the housing. As a quick check you could try a bodge of pushing the stripped ends of a piece of wire into the C13 and C15 positions, but make sure no stray strands are shorting anything else out.

Okay so my radio says that the aux should be on the oppsote side of the 10amp fuse which indicates it is the yellow wire i should use, it fits perfectly so it should be picking it up correct?

Also i dont even have the aux option when i press source, if there is a CD in it will change to that but with no disc it just says no source

You need to link pins C13 and C15 on the blue ISO aux plug before the head unit will let you select the AUX input. If you don't understand how to do this you will have to get help from someone who does. If you are near Cambridge I may be able to assist.

I am as nee as you... I just got the exact same issue! I do not even have the AUX display when i press the CD 2x times... I have bought the yellow cable, and someone also said that i shoulf pin these to somewhere, but I have never messed with something like this, and i would really appreciate if someone could explain how to pin these wires or make the work, with pictures or with a video..

Hi again!

Martinman just helped me out, and it all worked well!!! I shouldnt do anything than these simple steps:

Other trick you can try:

1. Keep the aux connected the way it's connected on your photos
2. Put a usb-key with some .mp3 songs into the usb port
3. Make it play from the media player (steering wheel menu)
4. Your aux is now connected

This works because the radio can only be switched to the aux input, when it gets a CAN message from the body computer (and/or blue & me?), that there is a source there.

I don't know if the trick g8rpi suggests works, but if you try that too, remember to report back.
