I'm looking for information about the kickdown cable bracket on my 1979 124 spider. I'm converting to automatic and need the bracket, or at least pictures. Can anyone help?
Kind Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
I am planning the same conversion. How did it go?
I am looking for a automatic transmission, where did you get yours?

Hi!
I have the same project with classic Lada 2107. Project is a realized. With correct bellhousing you need special flywheel and hub( use crankshaft bearing place). Also, automatic transmission longer then Standart, and need shorter cardan shaft( about 150-170 mm, forgotten this different)

Huramentzefix, in 2.0 tc engines use m12 flywheel screws( 1.6 1.8 engines m10). May be this information helps when you looking parts.

Thank you for information. I acquired all my parts. Trans from Georgia, kickdown from Tennessee, flywheel from a European site. Thanks

Which site was that? I had seen one somewhere and thought about buying it, didn't in the end. that is yours now probably.
If you see one floating around then please let me know.
Thank you.

Thank you Andrejs,
my lada niva 21214 has 4 wheel drive as you know.
I will use two long kardan shafts, and cut both to length, otherwise the front one is to short.
It's easier to cut two than to extend the front one.

sorry but sometimes I am a bit slow, can you explain this part "With correct bellhousing you need special flywheel and hub( use crankshaft bearing place)." to me? I haven't looked at my crankshaft bolts yet of my fiat 131 engine. you are saying that those are M12?
And where did you get your flywheel (flexplate) from or which one have you used?

Lovely @Slotman for the photos!

Another question for your automatic transmission experts.
Is the kickdown cable arrangement fully watertight?
I go through some puddles at times.

This transmission is widely availavle all over the globe.
In australia it is called trimatic, and in europe mostly TH180. In north america 3L30.
the fiat bellhousing only fits the 3L30 without lockup converter.
The newer one with lockup converter has a differrent channel layout and the bellhousing will not function.
It needs to be an old transmission with no lock-up to function with the fiat bellhousing

I purchased my transmission from ebay seller out of Georgia USA. Seller name is
britishanditaliancarparts (6281)

He gave me another contact for parts he did not have.(kickdown cable)
Both Gentlemen were extremely helpful and quick to respond.
