Hi.
Someone tried to force the passenger sliding door open, not realising that it was electronic.

Now neither door will work either off the key fob or from the open/close buttons (on the door column and in roof) or from the door handle. When you press the buttons they just beep.

I've tried disconnecting the battery to see if they reset. but that didn't work. In the past, when they have stopped working, they've reset themselves after you close the door manually. But this occasion it is looking more permanent.

I've looked back and found a thread that says there are two relays in a compartment on the drivers side (at the rear). Anyone got any ideas how to get to them and what else I can try?

No relays but the ecu is behind the o/s/r card. Could be worth checking ( I have spare ones if needed)

The beeping is it continuos? Or just 3 fast bleeps (means obstruction) so maybe the cable has stretched or kink?

Also you could try disconnecting the battery overnight, giving the bsi time to gully discharge.

Thanks for the reply. This is the thread that I was quoting from (posted 13-09-09):
You will probably find it is the rear door control module which is located behind he interior trim panel at the rear of the car on the drivers side (RHD). If you remove the panel, you will find the box below the motor unit.

This box controls both rear doors but fortunately its electronics are split, so if you get a problem with one side, it won't stop the other working.

On the circuit board are two relays (per door) and these have a tendancy to fail.

The beeping is three quick beeps. But if, as you suggested, the door thinks it is obstructed, why has the other door also stopped working? The button for that door gives three beeps too.

Inside the ecu possibly, never opened one up, have one on the shelf though.

Does the door shut by itself if helped by starting to pull it?

I have a C8 in at the moment that will only shut by the fob, the door pillar button just bleeps 3 times like yours.

I have noticed on it that the runners feel a little sticky, maybe yours just need a clean up and regrease or even maybe new bearing rollers.

Update:
Well, the bad news is my car died.

I had a number of electrical issues (other than the sliding doors), then last week it wouldn't start. I kept getting a message saying "Engine immobiliser fault". I tried a couple of auto-electricians, but was advised to go to the main dealer (Desira in Yarmouth). They said the car probably needed a new body module (£500) plus a couple of hours (@£90 hour!!!!) to fix and program the thing. There was also the cost of getting it there.

So that was that. I bought another Ulysse for twice the cost of fixing the old one, with half the mileage and in much better condition. It's also an Eleganza rather than my previous Dynamique.

BTW. This car has a screen, which I don't understand, so. I'm starting a new thread to ask a question about the screen messages.
