exactly.
i apply using a foam applicator pad, and remove using some of that polishing cloth you get chepa at asda. it took me a few years to accept that applicator pads were a good idea, now i cant believe i didnt start using them sooner. its quicker, easier, and uses less polish/wax.
i also stopped using SRP once i started using cheap homemade carnauba wax (you can buy a bottle on ebay for less than a fiver). it lasts longer and doesnt get white crap everywhere, and is safe to use on plastics and glass and everything else really (making the job so much easier).
i still use EGP on top of the wax, it does seem to make the shine last longer. i havent done my car since september but the water still beads off at every wash.
