Little preview picture of my new project i mean car

Its already been modified as im sure the private plate and the day running lights and the 3.2 v6 bumper show but theres still plenty to do!

im way excited, but ive got another weeks wait before i can get her home as its having a new steering rack fitted before i hand the cash over. but its worth it the 1.8l 4pot 20valve ko3 turbocharger is very tuneable :D

if anyone saw my grande punto tjet theyll know i like a shiny colourful engine bay and this car will be no different, already ordered a few bits going for a silver/blue theme this time round.

Btw if all your going to say is why a TT or the various hilarious TT jokes then dont bother posting.
Forgot to say that the TT is back on the road and has covered over 300miles so everything is bedded in i dont do many miles so i had to make a few extra motorway journeys to gently ease everything in, not totally neccessary but it doesnt hurt to slowly raise the rpm and boost psi :)

Dispite what the turbo company said i think i was right in saying seals had gone which in turn drained the oil and then starved the turbo scorching the turbine shaft because if the oil loss was a seperate issue then id still be losing it now or atleast the excess oil would have showed up on startup but nothing so i think the oil was being lost and burnt instantly in the turbo no outside parts, but touch wood things are fine now i cant see why they wouldnt be.

is this for sale now?

found something on pistonheads...

was considering it after i fixed it all to a level i was/am happy with

two more things,

firstly now its mechanically fine now my next task was the interior rattles and squeeky window, i seeked help in the form of my girlfriend pushing and prodding trim whilst on the move to locate some of the noise and found a few rattles coming from the boot lid trim but internally so after taking it off and discovering nothing i decided to raise the stoppers and pad the stopper contact area and it worked :D ive reduced the boot vibration enough that on normal surfaces theyres rattles no more, still have more rattles to discover but i am on coilovers and 19s so some are to be expected ;)

for the window it was alligned properly (years of people shutting the door with the window ) and so it squeeked on operation aswell as having severe wind noise at motorway speeds so after doing it again and again to allign and make the seal but not too much so not to burn the motor a test drive revealed some smiles :slayer:

secondly

i had some new tyres fitted, been meaning to do it for a while but wanted to get the most out of them and i have my MOT for tuesday so needed to be done they are Avon ZZ3 245/35/19 nice and wide :p going to have to adjust the front coilies as i have rubbing on speed bumps now as the thread has raised the wheels 10mm within the arches obviously just enough to rub!

next its various new bulbs but ive got to do some research on what flags up the blown bulb dashlight and also what can be done as i have xenons

Also made a new exhaust video 500+ miles since the sports cat, downpipe and tailpipes now things have bedded in nicely, video after a short drive down the road and back and with some minutes just idling hense it spitting out water and steam, thought id point that out for the people who will say 'your turbos not fixed look at the smoke'

Thankyou! i love it but as you know if you read the tt forum is its not the most reliable car ever made lol i see it similar to an old alfa great when it works but youll be fixing it for a while too

if it aint scrubbin', it aint dubbin'

leave it low ;)

lol it has to go higher atm its stopping me driving as fast as i like to :) i mean speed bumps im used to be very careful over but not for dips in the road lol

When i find a new job ill be ordering new brake discs and pads but im debating what style to go for with regards to the discs, the pads will be mintex performance but what discs:

dimpled and grooved
grooved
grooved and drilled
drilled

im leaning towards grooved and dimpled to keep disc strength whilst having fair performance gains but i wont track it so grooved and drilled might be better for appearance and overall performance, any opinions?

Yeah, I read the TT forum just don't post. Too many boys there

I've not had any problems bar the standard hazard switch replacement since I bought it 10 months ago but don't imagine that will last forever!! I absolutely LOVE the car so it makes up for it's running costs :slayer:

hahaa you havent read much then!! problems can be endless really just lots of smaller things i bought one of the best TTs around and im still constantly doing this and that to it bits i dont bother posting about, fingers crossed yours is the 5% that seem to be trouble free but if not your in for a world of pain if you cant do the jobs yourself :(

i thought the running costs were pretty fair tbh no more so than any other performance car ive had/driven

i wouldnt bother posting tbh i dont anymore theyre clueless no-one on that forum knows anything about cars and most have a horrific attitude

No  I just wanted one so I bought the best one I could find! Paid over the odds to get a 30k mile 2003 plate one. Its on 41k miles now and no problems so hoping the initial outlay paid off!! Its the first 'sports' car I've owned/ driven so I was scared to drive it the first few weeks terrified the turbo would kick in and I'd crash!!!

TBH that is the main problem, I know nothing about cars and dont live near family or have friends that know about cars so I have to pay garages to do everything.

I only go on there to see what other people have done/ what looks good etc but tbh i absolutely hate what the majority of people do them on there. The guy with the armrest? The ttspares TT etc what are these people thinking!!!

lol i have an armrest too  cruise control on heated seats on armrest down for motorway stuff :D

lol i hope you use the turbo nowdays, i tell you if you do do anything to modify it, defcon 2 anti roll bar bushes with the r32 anti roll bars are cheap and the difference is immense the handling at standard is shocking but afterthose two things and maybe a remap it really helps to give it the sports car feel you dont have to do lots to massively improve it

Aww, that sucks..

Well im sure it'll go to a nice home in the end. You got a link for it? :p

What is going to be the replacement? :D

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2496371.htm

replacement i really dont know a little runaround for a while i guess :( maybe a ka/fiesta, the ka luxury i also own my gf uses isnt a bad little infact its really nice, heated windscreen, leather, cd, air con and its not a bad drive either :)

No way are you selling!! Sad times :(

lol yes indeed but it might stay i mean if i get silly offers then itll stay the issue is finding someone willing to pay the extra for one in this condition most car owners just want a car they dont really notice quality like us car club owners :p

Oh no, you have reached the age where you want to be 80 years old and drive in luxury. :( Spit it out boy! you are still young :D

Can't help but look at the engine and think... Mmm that would look good in a mk1 golf. :p

Get a car thread up for the KA ;)
