Greets from icy snowy Helsinki.
Proud new owner of a 2009, 1.2, 3-door Punto here.
Needed a town runabout and it's going nicely.
HOWEVER... The manual locking system is simply terrible. I could have used other adjectives...
Have any of you good folks any experience of or tales to tell about (the possibility of?) swapping it out for a remote system?
Thanks!

Does it have central locking when you put the key in the door or does each door have to be locked individually?

Hey! Thanks for the reply.
The driver's door opens and locks that and the passenger side, but the passenger side only opens and locks that door.
The hatch can only be opened from the button on the dash. This is the real issue that I want to get rid of..

EDIT: In fact, I'd be happy with just a remote for the hatch. Not really bothered about the 2 doors.

So you want to be able to press a button on a fob to release the boot as you walk up to the car effectively then?

Looking at it briefly there are plenty of Grande Punto keys on a well known auction site which have 3 buttons, one of which is is a boot release so I would imagine it’s not too much of a big job. If you use the very helpful search feature someone has probably done this conversion before. Unfortunately i’m more mechanically minded rather than electrical but there’s plenty of clever people on here daily that should point you in the right direction 🙂
