My 2009 1.4 Grande has just failed its MoT test as the front O/S spring is fractured/broken. Is it advisable to replace both the O/S and N/S springs? We have owned the car since new and this is the first spring failure. The car has done about 123,000 miles.

Any advice or experience would be gratefully received!

The general advice is to replace in pairs, same as shock absorbers, also a good time to fit new top bearing mounts as they are a weak point.
At the end of the day the choice is yours and your pocket if they only failed one.
Strange though as the most common one is the N/S as it gets all the gutter treatment etc.
Speed bumps and potholes these days are the killers.:(
