hy.... I think about buying one of the punto 1.8 16v,tuned to 150hp, with remus, and I wonder if is there something to be worry about it ? it is my firs punto and I don't know his speciality yet :yum: is anything to take a special look to? any problems with motor?

thanks for help :worship::worship:

Remus been a tuning company?

Eitherway

The HGT's as we call them over here
They use a variable timing system called the variator - these are prone on early model to failing causing the car to sounds like a diesel/tractor

If they are good to go - they run smooth like a sowing machine :)

Its a punto
So the usual things like wiper linkages been a weak point
The cigarette socket been loose for 99% of things on the market
The floors rot on the rear chassis lugs from production

The 1.8 isn't a fiat engine as such - its a alfa Romero
I believe the 5speed box might be the same as other punto 5 speeds? im not sure tbh

My variator is shagged, still works and all that just sounds a little bit like a diesel on start ups - sometimes. My 2002 hgt is at 110k , since I got it at 83k - I've had disks and pads all round, track rod ends, thermostat ( stuck open thankfully ) and most recently, lots of welding work underneath and a wishbone. Depends how it's been driven and looked after, always keep up service intervals, and look after your gearbox I.e keep the fluid fresh.

I love mine
