hi all just thought Id check on here about an angel tuning remap for our mjet 150 sport
doing an offer at the mo for £240 all inc - no rolling road tho as they are coming to my door

what do you recon - is it a good price (I know gsr do it for £200 but im at the other end of the country)

"Our upgrade for your Bravo is 40bhp and 60lb ft which will also gives an improvement of 8-12% on your economy."

Allegedly an increase of 8-12%, I'd ignore thaat bit. The norm is in the region of 200bhp and 250-290ibft
Yes it's worth every penny, although I'd prefer to have the rolling road setup

Id do a search on here about angel tuning if i was you :)

Personally i would go to a rolling road near you before you get it remapped and see what it is putting out then if you get it remapped by them go back after and see what it is putting out then.

I had my previous Renault Laguna 2.2Dci re-mapped by them.

At the time I was pretty nieve to the whole re-mapping scene and didn't know what to expect or how exactly it should have been done.

Now I wouldn't go near Angel Tuning. After being in a car that had been remapped elsewhere I now notice that my Laguna had very little gains at all after the remap compared to what others were gaining after remaps.

The whole meet you at your home or in a car park (at work) as mine was also smacks of poor quality. Ideally a remapped car should be stuck on a RR etc to make sure the best is what you get from any map. Not just a uniform map uploaded in a car park somewhere claimed to be best suited to you and the car. How do they know? They've met you in a car park and uploaded a map. In my case all they done was open the drivers door and sit in my car. Not tests, checks etc etc

My own personal experience is poor of Angel tuning and after reading so many other stories of people using them I personally wouldn't go near them again.

But the choice is yours. I am sure there are some good stories of Angel out there.

Slowly going off the idea - dont like the sound of burnt out clutches etc - I know it not the remap its how you drive them.

Its the wifes car and she thinks its fast enough - Fair enough, she uses it mostly tear arsing about and getting 40 to the gallon, its no sloutch I'll give it that, so I'll save my hard earned - thus year at least  and get her some other goodies for the car (y)

PS I dont think anything worse of Angel, I'm not remapping as the wife doesnt want it done regardless of who does it.
Angel, I believe are like most remapping places they buy a tried and tested map from a map development company and apply that to cars, if I lived darn sarf and had GSR/reddot on my doorstep I would probably choose them, as they have a RR and you could see some B4 and after figures but angel dont pretend they are anything more than installers of maps in my opinion.

In the Alfa world Angel are well known, many good reports. Remaps tend to make on board computer mpg about 10% optimistic.

No, its a side effect. I think it's because more fuel is delivered in some pulses and the OBC does not know about the extra fuel. However you do get some who believe the figures, without checking fill-up to fill-up. My GT without remap did 50 mpg overall in the 2 years and 15000 miles, almost no heavy traffic use, mostly local main roads.

Where and when (how long ago) did Angel Tuning remap your Laguna?

They came to my work in Dunblane and it was about 2.5 years ago I had it done just after buying the Laguna (which I sold a year ago and bought the Bravo.)

Did you not think to speak to them and get it sorted. After all, they do offer a full money back guarantee. You honestly can't ask for more than that!!!

The cars sold!! To be honest waiting 1.5 years then going back to them to claim your not happy is a bit cheeky I think. I was just nieve to the whole mapping thing when I had it done. Wasn't sure what to expect. When I had it done I thought the gains I had were normal and what you got.

It's only now with experience and more knowledge that I understand that the the way they re-map cars is pretty poor.

I can only advise people who may be the same as I was when I had my first re-map done. I personally feel and advise there is much better value for money out there in the re-mapping scene. Me being nieve is the first place when I had it done is no excuse for me not to advise that there are probably better companies out there who offer a more personalised re-map and after all that is what most people want a re-map for. To personalise there car and get the best performance out of it from how you drive and use the car.

Angel Tuning use uniform standard maps for every car. It's not personalised to the car nor driver. If your looking to have a basic remap then use Angel Tuning. The guy is a great guy and was great to deal with. But I feel that for the same money you can get a lot more elsewhere.

If you wanted to by baked beans and a cheap, bad tasting brand were the same price as Heinz Beans then I think it would be wise of me to show you can by the better brand for the same price (from personal experience) than just let you learn the hard way for yourself.

I can only give my personal experience. But I've also heard a lot more people give details of bad experiences than good with Angel Tuning and there maps that now I'd personally go elsewhere.
