I Posted earlier about getting my wheels done & wonder if anyone has first hand experience of work done for them by The Wheel Specialists in B'ham?

Good or Bad I'd rather know before rather than after lol (Cheers Munkul) (y)

Aye Sam I have seen them, www.knwheels.co.uk They manufacture as well and their website gives some useful wheel info as well!
They just dont quote On-Line, plus the deal was a shopping trip for Mrs Ffoxy while my wheels were being done and she wants to go to The Mailbox....:bang:

Here's the result, 2 more pics on the original Thread.

a Wheel Specialist wanted £70 a wheel to re powder coat my wheels. local powder coat place that do things like gates shop shelves large fan housings an so on, quoted me 30 a wheel but only charged 20 in the end

I know dave, I got a cheaper quote from knwheels but they wanted the wheels for 7 - 10 working days.

Heres a bluenose secret for ya ! I use a company called City Powder Coaters in Digbeth. They do most of the trade wheels in Brum for a lot of the mobile vans etc and have done a lot of work for me on engine bits, calipers and on my lambretta (old mod here!) Don't think they advertise to the public as they are mostly trade but they do work for the public .They have done quite a few sets for lads I know and a great gun metal finish on a set for my old (but much loved) coupe . They charge their trade rate if you have the cheek to ask at £20 wheel and had them blasted and lacqured included. Only thing that is a slight problem was had to get tyres taken off wheels myself which was bit of a ball ache , would have been better if I could have left my car there. Will try and post some pics up.

I look forward to seeing them

I used Lap-Tab (The Wheel Specialist) in Birmingham for the 18X8" OZ Super T's on my GT4.

Yes you can get cheaper by doing some work yourself, but the service is brilliant, the fact they will do it in one day means you don't even have to remove wheels yourself, never mind take them somewhere.

Drive in in the morning, wheels and then tyres removed, strip & any damage repaired, and then powder coat in your chosen colour and drive away in afternoon is worth paying for if like me on the GT4 only have one set of wheel and have no interest whatsoever in being without wheels for minimum 4-5 days like most other powder coating places.

I also saved some money overall by buying new tyres online and getting them to fit them and dispose of my old tyres, I then knew for sure my wheels would suffer no damage on fitting new tyres.

I did find another place other than "The Wheel Specialist" who do the one day service but show what a difference this service makes to price http://www.wheelgenie.co.uk/index.shtml

Had my UnoTurbo wheels refurb'ed at LapTab, B'ham :) Prices depend firstly on wheel size Obviously, the more fancy your colour (eg Lambo green) or the more intricate your finish (eg glitter), then the more it costs My 13" Uno Turbo wheels in 'standard' gloss black came in at £160 for the four, tho you can ask for discount (at the manager's discretion) As a repeat customer I got 15% off ;)

The tyres were fitted thru the eTyres franchise - I dropped the wheels straight round to my local fitter (tho he's a mobile fitter &would've do it at your home or work) &he delivered them the next day :slayer:

Spoke to Lee who does my stuff at City Powder Coaters in Birmingham and he said if you mention that you are FIATFORUM member he will do at trade price. They chemical strip , shot or sandblast (not sure which it is ) then powder coat and finally finish with a lacquer . Any colour including sparkle silver for £20 a wheel next day turn around.

There number is 0121 448 7646 not sure if they have website . Mention that you think I deserve commision as well or at least my own done for free next time :)!
