Hi, I got a steering wheel with controls, a clock spring, and a stalk with cruise control from an Alfa 147. I tried to fit the stalk to my Punto Mk2b, but the "Set" button from the Alfa doesn't work like my "Trip" button. Also, I would like to make the steering wheel controls work. Does anyone have the wiring information for that?

The trip button is native to the car, the cruise control set is not. It needs wiring to the plug under the engine fuse box, if it is there?!

Well worth the mod though, read the guide on this forum, it has all the information.

Hi, you are saying i got faulty stalk?
About cruse control, my car is 1.2 8v, and throttle body is on cable, for now that is impossible.

Did your car have cruise control as standard? if not it won't have the wiring in place and you need to put it in.

It didn't, but I am not planning on installing the cruise control. I am talking about the trip button that doesn't work when I install the 147 stalk.

Ah, my mistake. I thought it was only the CC stalk you were fitting. I now realise you have fitted the complete set. I'll see what wiring diagrams I can find. Does the mode buttons to move around the display parameters work? I think they are on the same fuse? Can you plug in your old stalk to verify the trip button still works?

Buttons on the cluster work. The connectors on the back are the same, just rotated differently. I ended up putting my old stalk back, and the trip button still works. I do have eLearn for Alfa 147 if that is helpful somehow.

If you have eLearn for 147 search for trip computer wiring diagram and post here to compare. Here the Punto trip button is shown to connect connector C pin 1 to ground via pin 5. It will be interesting to compare.

It's identical. Also, where did you find eLearn for Punto 2b?

These diagrams show the button should work, both Punto stalk button and 147 button connect Connector C Pin 1 to Pin 5. The connector seems to have moved position on the stalk unit. The connector is 6 pins, maybe they are reversed order? Did everything else work OK? At least now you can check the stalk unit with a multimeter to see if the button is faulty. maybe just needs some cleaner sprayed in.

Manual from here: https://www.tecnicman.com/fiat-punto-service-manual-1999-2010-multilang-download.html 7.90 euro

Everything except that trip button works. I will check it out with a multimeter and probably get a second one. Thank you so much for your help.

If the rear wiper worked OK and washer pump activated OK it is a good assumption the pins are connected in the right order, see below: Connector C Pins 2,3,4,&5 accounted for on rear windscreen wash/wipe. Just seen your reply. good luck and update if you fix it.
