Have just ordered a set of front and rear chrome bumper strips to add to my 500, but unfortunately they do not come with any adhesive supplied. Does anyone know what adhesive is recommended for attaching them to the bumper?

Hi, go to Halfords & get some trim repair tape, thin double sided adhesive black foamed tape & is used for your requirements. (y)

If you plan on taking them off at a later date (a sensible option as they can get damaged / scuffed easily) - go for the double sided trim tape- if you want the permanent option, go to halfords and get some loctite 959 silicon trim adhesive- once on you wont be able to shift them.

Sorry to hijack this thread.

I've got some front chrome bumper thingies from ebay and mine look like they clip in.

Is this right or is it best to glue them in as well?

I think the chrome bumper thingies from the lounge clip in but when added to a pop or sport need to be stuck on.

I think you're right. You have to cut slits in the bumpers to fit the ones with lugs, on the back of the bumper there are marks showing where to cut them with a bread knife.

I was joking about the bread knife. But the rest is accurate!

I think that's the best option. If you're sticking them on your're pretty much ruining the bumper for anyone in the future who might want to replace the strips or use the bumper on another car if the one it comes from gets written off. Make it reversible and go for some double sided trim tape.

I haven't gone for the rear bumper, just the fronts.

Do you think it would be an idea to cut the lugs off the chrome bits and stick them on with the tape?

When they arrived, I guessed that the red bumper strips that are on the car would pop out, but I guess this isn't the case.

The ones on the pop are just a moulded part of the bumper I think, not a separate bit. If it was me I would cut off the lugs very carefully and glue it on with one of the methods described above.
