Technical ABS

Stupid question like but...

If you have ABS (like my Punto '00) surely the wheels shouldn't lock\car skid, whether its wet or dry? -- or are my brakes knackered? Or is ABS just not that good as u think?

well have t say i agree i thought if you have abs you it shouldnt lock up or skid as its desgned to stop that.

im sure this hasnthappned to yoru car as its new but on my last car a 1993 cavalier SRI some previous owner disconected the abs warning light so it never came on to tell me that a sensor had gone, as a result i skidded one night into back of another car under emergency breaking. just put it down to very crap abs wasnt till MOT time i found out real reason
