Hello,

I have an ABS problem with my panda.

The ABS light turn on.

A garage has diagnosed (via OBD2) a falty front left ABS sensor.

I have replaced the sensor with a new, and this did not solve the problem.

So there must be some other problem.

What about the ABS-ring, do the tend to go bad?

What type of ABS-sensor is it?

Did you delete the error code after fitting new sensor?
If so, did the error come back straight away or after car moved?
The magnetic ones are usually "active" which means there is a voltage that can be measured carefully across the wires from the car, it can be around vehicle battery voltage. so if there is a break in the wire or a fault at the ABS module it may show up.
Regarding the ABS ring at the wheel again two types "vane type" which can be visible rusted or damaged or magnetic which is often part of the wheel bearing.
Note this type can be damaged if poked with a magnetic screwdriver for example if trying to clean the hole where the abs sensor locates.
I have a tester for that which looks like a credit card , made by SKF bearings and when held against the bearing it shows the magnet force field in metal iron filings trapped in the card. In a previous posting on Forum I have shown this, if you can find it.:)

I thaught that the ABS warning lamp turned off by it self when the problem was solved?
So I did not delete the error code.

The sensor have only 2 wires, and a flat head:
From this, I guess than the ABS ring is on the side of the wheel bearing?

Unfortunately I do not have OBD2 diagnostic tools.

Do you know if I can use a bluetooth OBD2 adapter and an android app to delete error codes on this Fiat Panda?

Did this problem just occur on its own, or is it following another repair or failure? A common problem is when the wheel bearing is replaced, and fitted the wrong way around, so that the reluctor ring is on the wrong end, so not near the sensor.
Incorrect parts, or faulty parts are rare, but do occur. Is it possible to swap the sensors left to right, to check the sensor works?
Follow the wiring, from sensor, all the way to the ABS module, checking for damage or poor connections. A diagnostic check shows a signal issue from that wheel, but all it is really seeing is no signal, or a incorrect signal. It does not diagnose the cause of that result.

Yes, the problem just occured on its own.

A possibility is a corroded reluctor ring?

Yes, I would like to test the output from the sensors, while I rotate the wheels by hand.
That is why I would like to know what type of sensor.

Because I do not have OBD2 diagnostic tools, a swap is of little use here?

Later: from what I can see online, the sensors front left and right is the same, so a swap should be possible.

It is not so simple to follow the sensor wires (but no one, said it was)

The other half is in the wheel bearing

If the wheel bearing gets hot you will loose the ABS

Both fronts are the same

I swap the ABS sensor over, read the codes, if it swaps side you have a faulty sensor

Then do the same with the hubs

There's no need to order either without diagnosing the problem first

As I mentioned earlier if careful you can check your abs plug has battery voltage across the terminals with active using a voltmeter/multimeter, roughly battery voltage is OK , I had a Skoda that only read around 8 volts due to corrosion in the wiring loom.
There are various ways to measure the readings from the ABS sensor , it depends on what system yours uses, passive / active etc.
However you will need to delete error codes to proceed, so a good diagnostic tool such as MES wouild help and there are many on Forum who can advise regarding that.:)
As has been mentioned damage to the magnetic ring can cause the problem, but it needs accurate diagnosis.
