Hi Everyone. I have just joined this forum, hoping to find help regarding ABS problem I have on my Punto Evo.
This is a high mileage 2010 car, 1.4 petrol, which I got cheaply to use as a daily runner.
It has couple of problems needing solving, mainly the ABS fault it developed recently.
The "ABS/EBD unavailable" pops up straight after turning ignition on and the ABS light is permanent.
The fault codes are as follows:
C121916 - pump supply voltage below threshold
C002049 - recirculation pump internal electronic failure.
The second one suggest the pump is dead or to be reconditioned, but, if I understand the first one correctly, there might be a problem with the wiring.
I have checked the plug and all the pins seem to be fine. No obvious damage to the wires.
I have recently replaced the battery as the car came with a non start/stop specific one.
Can the pump failure error code be caused by wiring problem only?
Just wanted avoid sending the pump to be diagnosed/repaired only to find out there's nothing wrong with it.
Anyone had a similar problem?
