General Abarth 695 Tributo Review in Evo

sure was, it would be bloody hard to get that pick while it was on the floor wouldnt it  ;)

I have another photo from behind but it is even worse than that one.
We opened and locked the bypass valve for the clients so that they had the roar from start up instead of just at 3k rpm
Was just asking :p How popular are 500's in the land of the long white cloud?

We cannot get enough of them at the moment.
Abarth is sold out until november and the 695's, well we secured three and have them all sold before here so cannot complain at all, hefty tag of $79,990 but doesnt phase anyone really.

Well there are always going to be a few people everywhere who can afford to spunk 80k away on a toy.

Surprised they're selling so well, what's the pricing on the standard 500 non-Abarth hatchback?

Crazy that folk are buying these for rediculous amounts when in Thailand you get/got one free with any Maserati purchase.

Though with Thailand being a RHD market like the UK, it seems that it's reallocation excercise of unsold stock in a marketplace that Maserati are trying to get a foot hold in as a nice incentive to buy into the brand.

For same money you get a BMW 1M (my vote) or an Audi RS3.

My mate had a Audi 'simple engine' Sportback and being 6ft something couldn't get comfortable and eventually got rid of it. Realise that this is from J.C. and it's the Sportback model but he doesn't think much of it in his review...
But while you emerge from every trip in the Beamer wearing an enormous grin, you emerge from the Audi smiling only because the trip is over.

Spoke at length with my dealer about the 695 when organising my Abarth. What I was told was this;

The importer had no intention of importing them BUT a number of loyal Ferrari customers asked nicely (by loyal I mean those regular Ferrari customers that get offered a new model routinely well before any official release - not some Ferrari arrivista). So the importer arranged 12 odd here in Australia (& NZ maybe)- all sold prior to delivery. Again apparently, these buyers wanted something that had a bit of a buzz to drive, much like their Ferraris but without the Ferrari ownership hassles - public parking, security, vandals. Obviously money is not an issue - makes perfect sense

The price for the normal A500 SS in NZ IIRC is about $NZ42K, whereas here in OZ its about $AU40U - they are far cheaper in NZ , go figure ?

Maybe the dealers here are just awesome Joseph :D

The 695's that we have had here admittedly have been cars that were sourced via cancelled orders in Aussie, still, we have had them sold before they arrive as people want something "special".
We currently have a couple of people fighting over the yellow one as it is a one off and no other is to be imported!

Come across this. Not too sure if it does justice to the Yellow colour. On the 500 the Yellow looks great in real life and is generally a bargain secondard because of the limited market for it.
