Technical 500L semi auto gearbox fault code P2930-85

Hi everyone. Hope you are all good. I recently bought a 2014 500L MPW Automatic (dualogic) with 60k miles. It drove flawlessly for a couple of weeks then check transmission light came on. On the computer it showed fault code P2930-85 Clutch closed Position Seltuned - Signal above allowable range.

The car is still driving fine and it sounds like a sensor to me. Just wondering if anyone else has ever come across this and could offer some advice about which sensor I should be looking at or if it might be something more serious.

Not too sure but there is something about this clutch position sensor on a troubleshooting guide which may be of use?

Just an idea..

The door opening primes the system..

Maybe after 10 minutes the system pressure has dropped ?

Have you got access to Diagnostic kit.. ? Reading system pressures from OBD??

Hi, I have just seen your post, I’ve got exact same issue seems to be a very common fault, I have a 500L semi auto 15 plate, have had the problem since September, I’ve been told it could be the transmission solenoid if you Google it chances are you’ll have a few of the related symptoms, mine drives almost perfectly apart from second gear it seems to either struggle getting in and out of it. I’ve just today posted a thread for help on that. So if I get a reply I will tag you.

No sorry, every garage I phoned wouldn’t touch it I ended up rejecting the car and giving it back to dealer.

i had this p2930 code come up on my 500l 40.420 miles no drive when putting into gear . mine was repaired by fitting a new clutch and reprograming
the clutch wears out due to the driver leaving it in gear for too long when stopped

Can I please. Did you bring this to especialist to be fix? I have the same problem and one especialist can change the clutch and reprogram it but is it that straight forward fix? And how much roughly did you pay for it? Thank you.

ok with mine the red light came on transmission fault and when plugged it in to a code reader came up with p2930 clutch position sensor out of tolerance ( something like that ) i reset the code and the warning light went off , but came back on after about 3 days
i drove the car a for about 2000 odd miles with the light on then suddenly the car just lost total drive ( no gears forward or back ) but the red light went out the car was taken to a garage they told me it was the clutch it wears down until the ecu says NO . The clutch was replaced and i have done about 1400 miles since with no problems paid £620 which i thought was pretty reasonable , Good luck with yours hope it goes as straight forward as mine

Thank you. I have the same code and currently driving with no problem but i already contacted a specialist and they can do the clutch and reprogram for £700 which is just about the same price. Can i ask if you are in UK and which garage done your garage?
