Hi.
My 2016 soft top looks sad.
I've used meguiar's soft top cleaner and it removed the dirt nicely.
But the color looks bad.
So... I bought renovo soft top reviver dark red as the color on the label looked similar. But unfortunately it's much darker. Any recommendations how to dye the soft top?
Thanks

Hmm, I know the Renovo products are great, but I'm using them only on black material, so difficult to say about the red one.

There are usually pieces of the material on the bottom, which are usually hidden. Try the colour on such piece (but usually they are darker than on the top). Then, if needed, try contacting renovo and ask what can be used to make the colour lighter.

Hi.
I did tried the dye on hidden area but as expected its too dark.
I've consulted with Renovo and they did not provide any information other then pigment they use. Apparently this pigment should match but in real it's too dark.
I'm sure there are other product that match the color... I just didn't find them yet

OK.

The photo on the sock, is it wet, or dried already?

The colour evaporates, even on the black ones I have it did. Despite being dyed twice.

From what I've read / heard, renovo is the best quality, others fade quickly. When discussing the problem like 1,5 years ago I've also got an information on a professionnal use fabric dye, but can't remember the name. It was not available easily, but as far as I remember I found it in a shop in France.

And they had a choice of colours.

I'll try to find it and will let you know in the evening. In the meantime perhaps someone will add more to the subject.

EDIT: so, it was easier to find than I thought :D

The company name is RIT:

They have an online shop, and deliver to Europe now.

But I have not tried it, only heard from someone who's dying clothes. She's like creating original clothes in Mexico.

This is a photo after the renovo black has been applied twice and dried. You can compare the black with the side panel:

Thanks
I assume that the wine color will be the best match.
But I ain't sure if this is the right material for the soft top and how to apply it on the roof as this material is to dye clothes by soaking it for a while, something I can't do with the roof.
