Hi folks, was at a dealer today looking to buy a new fiat 500 abarth, im waiting on him getting a hold of a demo for me to drive so in the meantime before/if i put pen to paper are their any faults i should look out for? im not bothered about fuel consumption or firm ride there just part of the fun :)
 
no one got any probs with their 500 then it seems :confused: nearly 50 views and not a reply.
 
We had one of the initial launch models & had one problem early on but definately a one off & fixed under warranty, cars now up to 19,000 miles & OK

Biggest problem early on was parts supply but hopefully that is now sorted

Great car, will give you loads of big :D:D
 
Still havent heard back from the dealer so will pester him at weekend for a drive, if i like it then im gonna get one, think of grey with the essesse kit.
 
If anyone is likely to have problems then it's me. But wait, nothing at all has gone wrong.
When I think back even to the 1980s, I can remember people with new cars having tons of faults from new. One guy I know had 52 faults on his new car!

I had a 1.2 Sport model first and it was a little beaut. My A500 looks a lot meaner but it attracts tons of attention and I love everything about it.
 
No problems for me except a split hose from the turbo wastegate to the airbox caused by the removal of the airbox....


And they do not sell the bit separately so you have to by a whole new airbox or get a pop off filter to make ptoosh noises...
 
Another problem for mine....When i try to get into my garage, i drive over the uplifted ramp (left front wheel first), sometimes my back wheel is in the air, and i get a creaking sound from the driver's door. It's like the chassis is bending and it causes the door to move slightly. i don't know if this is the case but if it is, then it's serious.

What do you expect if the car is only on three wheels?
 
This afternoon when i started the car the engine started shaking for a few seconds and then the engine light came on. It started flashing for a few seconds and then it went off. Off to the dealer tomorrow.
 
Had to take mine back to Westover yesterday to get a rattle sorted out that was there when I bought the car. I am mentioning this because, although very minor on the scale of niggles it was so annoying. A lot of owners have had various rattles but this didn't fit any of the suggested causes. In the end it turned out to be some coins that had become lodged on the seat runner and made the noise whenever going over a slight bump. :D
