Technical 3 pin OBD connector

Has anybody ever fitted a modern 16 pin connector to a Mk1 and wired in the 3 pin connectors to it? I have a 2001 Ducato with just one 3 pin and wired it to a 16pin in the cab. Just wondering if it can be done with the Punto.

Probably fairly easy just get a 3 pin to obd adapter as uses by multiecuscan and hardwire a power feed to it

I'm wondering about it because there is more than one ECU! Was easy enough in the Ducato.

Engine ECU is 3 pin. Alarm is 16pin I believe but dont know of any software for it
