I am in the process of purchasing a new 2024 LHD Ducato-based campervan from France. It's nicely specced, including full LED headlights with LED DRLs.

Does anyone know if its possible to adjust these headlights for driving in the UK (so it passes the IVA??)

I've seen elsewhere that these LEDs have quite a flat beam and also mention a 'neutral' beam pattern, but I can't find a definitive answer to their adjustability for driving on the left ( or back again if on holiday in Europe).

The dealer seems to think that the whole headlight unit will need to be replaced. I have been trying to find a part no. to see if Fiat produce lhd and rhd units but not having any luck.

Any help is appreciated.

Not an expert on this but I can say the LED headlights on our mini countryman do not have the raised portion of light on the left of the beam as you find with normal headlights. This means that no adjustment is needed to drive abroad.

I have heard this is the same with other manufacturers so you may find it the same with the Ducato

Someone more knowledgeable than me, will, I hope be along soon to confirm

Hello,

MultiEcuScan is poor in options for the x290 MCA model (with the 2.2 diesel instead of the 2.3, so I assume for the newer ones).

In the older x290 model with the 2.3 engine in the Body section there are three options available:

The middle one is missing on the x290 MCA. And of course in the middle one on the Adjustment tab I found that:

But of course it's not described in any way on what is will have impact...

Couldn't find anything else that could be related to country or driving side of the road.

Perhaps AlfaOBD would be a good place to check, I think I've read somewhere it gives more possibilities.

Isn't there anything in the owners' handbook on that? In theory could be, as vans tend to travel...

There is a thread with the same question:

But no answer to the question has been given.

Thank you, at the moment I'm trying to see if Fiat has two headlight part numbers for LHD/RHD my thinking is that if only one that would determine a 'flat beam'. I guess I will have get it properly tested to prove this.

Update on my post: Lights are not neutral beam. No user options to change beam for UK/EU. Handbook says to buy beam deflector stickers. I have taken one out and no switch on the unit. Coastal Motorhomes found the UK variant units for me, they have been super helpful. Fingers crossed they'll drop in without needing coding.

Lights dropped straight in and worked out of the box, no coding needed.
