I've found several posts here about this issue. My roof (2014 Fiat 500) is completely jammed open and will no longer move at all with the switch/motor. I was not able to turn the manual crank at all. Since the motor is unresponsive, this isn't a "reset the roof" problem. I was able to manually push the glass panel to the "closed but tipped open ("rally"?) position, shown in the picture below. The window is being held open by a brace on each side (2nd picture), which won't move, but I assume should rotate to allow the window to drop closed.
I cannot locate any Fiat dealer (or auto shop) in AZ that will even look at the problem. At this point I would be happy if I could close the window once, then never open it again.
Is anyone aware of service manuals or engineering drawings which show the steps which would be needed to release the braces and allow the window to drop into a closed position? Thanks!!
