Hello! And help, please! Just joined and am a little overwhelmed with this awesome but massive forum, so I really don't know where to post/ask this. My Fiat 500l Trekking (automatic) (which I love - yes love...except for the transmission sometimes
) lost its gears, AGAIN, two weeks ago. Same thing happened in Jan. 2019: "Gear not available" - completely undriveable. At that time, mechanic found hydraulic pump stuck off, replaced the SDU under warranty, all good. About a month ago, "service transmission" light came one - my usual general service mechanic said it would need a new hydraulic pressure pump etc. for about $5,000, within the year if not sooner. So I left it and it was running okay. Two weeks ago, I start the car and get "Gear not available" - odo is approx. 99,500 kms. Mechanic (authorised Fiat one that did the work in 2019) said yesterday that the harness connector is corroded. He's having a terrible timing sourcing the part, couldn't even get the model number at first because apparently its only service (supplied?) with the complete harness - looking at $5,270 for the job, which even he says that's unrealistic, so he's trying now to source the part used so that he can do a splice and solder and get the car on the road for much less. Am I making sense? Anybody know where I can get the part? Thanks in advance!
