Technical 2005 PALIO 1.7 TD gearbox problem

I have a Fiat PALIO 1.7 TD EL, I am unable to select 4th gear but all the other gears are fine. What could the cause be.

Gearbox internal damage is most likely..

Worth lubricating the change cables though..
