General 2004 Doblo MPV Locking issue.

Hi, got an issue with my 2004 Doblo MPV, can't lock the drivers door at all and the central locking won't work, I don't have remote central locking and I have left the car unlocked all day with the interior lights turned off and the battery has gone flat, it's almost like there is a latch not catching properly and not allowing the lock to engage, are there any common issues on these with locks to look for???

It may be an issue with the electrical part of the drivers door lock, I have had that with other vehicles.
If you think the other doors are not locking fully what I usually do to test is with the door open, close the lock catch fully with a screwdriver and test the central locking, just remember to release the catch before trying to slam the door so you do not damage the lock.
Another thing to check is if wiring damaged at door hinge area.
