Morning all,

I've searched and searched but cannot identify the make of immobiliser on my car or if it is Thatcham compliant.

I want to do a 2 to 1 upgrade with remote locking but would like to use genuine parts.

The Cinq is listed as cat 2.....

Thanks,

Simon

YES .... sorry were you hoping for more info than that?

2001 Owners Handbook states that the Sei was fitted with either a (Thatcham Cat 2) alarm/immobiliser OR a complete alarm/immobiliser/remote system
2001 Fiat Accessories Catalogue - the Meta M20/1FT enables remote locking for cars not already fitted with it, & there are various (more expensive) Meta alarm systems that are Thatcham Cat 2-1 or Cat 1 protection.
The Meta M99T2FA will give you a full Cat 1 system & should lower your insurance (but probably only if it's fitted by a Fiat approved company/technician).

Thanks for the response.

All cars from 98 onwards had an immobiliser fitted. EU law etc.

My handbook mentions it but is not specific around make of Thatcham rating.

Still confused....lol

Not worried about insurance as old.

Want to keep her safe & ideally would like FIAT bits.

From the Brio, does it list the part number for the alarm & locking upgrade? Would really appreciate the details.

The Brio! catalogue states the standard MPI system is Thatcham Cat2.
Which alarm & locking upgrade? there's lots! The more you pay, the more functions/safeguards they have (& it would take half a day to list all the info!).

Thanks again(y)

Ideal, I want to keep it original so procure and get professionally fitted the Brio Meta kit.

Add on the alarm to the existing immobiliser & get plippers to work the central locking.

Not worried about theft that much. Car is either in an alarmed garage, on my drive with a Disklok fitted or in our secure works car park.

It rarely tackles daily duties. The Angry Panda or GT86 do that :)

When I was looking to do the same thing basically what I found out meta no longer make m20/1 and there basically fairly rare if you do find one hence why I fitted a toad alarm to mine

As Henseyseries3 pointed out they're only available as New Old Stock ( i've read Abacus Alarms remade SOME models).
Most of the Meta range were pin-to-pin systems so had connectors to plug into specific models but if you can find any the Meta F1/F13, M871/M15, & M99T2FA are universal.
