General 2.8 jtd service code

can anyone tell me how to clear the service code on my newly purchased s/h 2003 camper as I wish to carry out the servicing myself.

Turn the ignition on but do not start the vehicle. Hold the milage reset button in the dash for approx 10 seconds at the same time. The display will show the wrench symbol and the message "CFG 1" or "CFG2" or "CFG3" press the button to the required setting the press it again and hold it for at least five seconds, this will store the setting and clear the service message. I will check the service intervals later but, for a camper I think it is "CFG1"

P.S. If you have the Fiat Ducato Owners Handbook the info is on Page 32. Also the CFG number doesnt really matter as you should service your camper every year no matter the mileage as it wil probably be laid up for a while every year.

Thanks Wayfarer. I just cleared my spanner symbol on my 2003 2.8JTD using that technique. However, what does CFG stand for? In other words, what's the difference between CFG 1, 2 and 3? Anyone know?

Configuration !, 2, 3. It refers to the type of use that the vehicle would normally get.

CFG 1. 30000 km Standard use for 2.8JTD versions

CFG 2. 20000 KM Severe use for 2.8JTD versions

CFG 3. 15000 km Severe use 2.8JTD versions.

Best bet is to do a service at the start of each season especiall if the van is idle during the winter. It will stand to you in the long run
