Hi All,

We have recently purchased a 2001 motorhome with 2.8iTD engine. It drives fine and no noises or clicks come from the engine. The only problem we have is that when we go up a hill and therefore power is required we start to get a slight shake in the cab.

It came with 3 months warranty so before I take it back has anyone got any ideas that i can direct them to?

Pete

When front bushings are worn it will toe in badly under power, also worn CVS or tripods especially left is common, back engine/gearbox mount can produce all sorts of wobbling vibrations etc when it's stuffed I would check that first then jack up each side and check bushings driveshafts.

Could well be a bent half shaft.
Had the problem 2 years ago, 2002 Motorhome 2ltr, after getting caught on a hairpin bend in Norway. Had to stop on the inside of the bend then restart over a gravelly surface.
Ran OK on the flat but up steep hills and with a heavy right foot the shunting/vibration got worse.....to quite severe.
Driving sensibly it was OK and I didn't have the half shaft replaced for a few weeks afterwards.......however I did get the 'wrong one' replaced first!
Just to check drive round a car park slowly on full lock, both ways, to make sure there is no noise from the bearings etc!

Cheers guys. I'll have a look then take it back to them to sort out.

Happy new year
