Technical 2.3 multijet water in fuel filter light on, help.

hello fiat forum,
the water in filter light has come on. removed filer and replaced element, no water evident. light still on.
pictures on net show a purge bleed screw to cure this on my mopar unit there is no purge. reluctant to remove unit again. any suggestions?

Disconnect and reconnect the wires at tge filter head. Give it a tap with a hammer handle. If this doest work it sounds like sensor issue. Another case of a nuisance warning system!

well what do you know!
just spent a few days away did 600+km the light stayed on all the time. On the return following the advice of Panda nut I disconnected the plug on the filter head. I did not hit it with a hammer, just checked the wires where secure. refitted the plug went to my usual garage for a fill up, after which the light disappeared. I know there was never water in the filter but fault appeared and now disappeared. Perhaps something to try before opening the filter. Many thanks forum
