Hi all , thinking about buying a 2.0L 20v turbo engine out of the fiat coupe for my mk2b and I was wondering If anyone has already done it and is it an easy job or is it really hard and expensive to do ? Thanks

no ones done it in a mk2b only mk2, and it was a massive ball ache, it wasnt a simple engine swap there was a lot of fabrication and modifying the engine bay, which means cutting stuff off the engine bay, and its not a job for a novice or someone hoping for it to be an overnight swap....

heres a video of a mk2 with a 20vt engine...

I got told it would bolt straight in ! But obvIously not haha don't think I will be doing that then! But that would be so much fun !

bolt straight in? i think whoever told you that was telling you a bunch of porkies!
20vt engine is not even close to a bolt straight in engine:D theres a lot of work invovled for this engine, not only is there a lot of cutting involved and major modifications it just isnt worth the hasle, if you wanted a bolt straight in engine, get a punto gt engine and fit that, its a nice choice of engine, if you want to do an engine swap:)

Would love to put the jtd engine in but that also means changing the fuel tank and fuel lines and that's a lot of work and money haha

another problem of putting a coupe engine into a punto is the electronics
The Punto's electronics wont probably work at all with the coupe engine
You probably need an entire coupe wiring looms to hopefully try and make it all work!

Its not a challenge i'd accept without winning the lottery

Shoe horns are much needed!!

plus the punto HGT would be a best bet

I do believe that the alfa' people have make a turbo kit as well

So a 1.8 16v Turbo will go just as quick as a stock coupe probably!

Okay yea - its not a coupe, but hey ho

There's a few punto's about with a 2.0l 20v implant,

I think you have to modify the bulkhead.. due to clearance issues for the inlet manifold.

Sorted!!
